Monthly Newsletter Dr. Kirchner developed the Kirchner Headache Clinic after years of study and research on his own Classical Migraine. His goals are to focus on headache education and research to be able to help the thousands of people who are unable to find help with their headaches. His wife also suffered from disabling attacks of migraine. Through both study and personal experience, Dr. Kirchner realized that people who do not have migraine are not able to comprehend the devastation that this disease can cause. Personally, Dr. Kirchner was losing too much time from the care of patients due to migraine attacks. No longer does Dr. Kirchner have attacks. As a result of his experience, Dr. Kirchner wants to help as many patients as possible that suffer from headaches. The treatment program he uses is modeled after the procedures developed by several fellow members of the American Headache Society and the International Headache Society. These treatment protocols are very effective for the majority of headache sufferers. Dr. Kirchner has treated thousands of people suffering from a variety of headaches including migraine, cluster and post traumatic headache. Over ninety percent of these people have experienced improvement in their headaches and have lost less time from work and other important activities. Dr. Kirchner has also participated in research with a new class of drugs call Triptans, which includes Imitrex, Zomig, Amerge, Maxalt, Axert, Relpax, Frova, and Trexima. He was also co-author of two articles on the injectable and oral forms of Imitrex. One article appeared in The Journal of the American Medical Association and the other appeared in the Journal of Neurology. The clinic continues to be involved in research of additional headache treatments.
